The Invisible Barriers Gatekeeping your Success
You have incredible potential for growth, impact, and fulfilment. Yet, something often seems to stand in your way, preventing you from reaching the success you desire. You're not alone, many highly-skilled professionals face invisible barriers that hold them back. These obstacles can include:
Imposter Syndrome
Battling feelings of inadequacy, wondering if you truly deserve your success or can handle upcoming challenges.
Decision Paralysis
Stuck in a never-ending loop, afraid of making the wrong choice, unable to move forward with conviction.
The Perfectionism Trap
Pursuing excellence becomes a barrier, and the desire for success creates procrastination, burnout, or missed opportunities.
Fatigue
The endless drain on your energy from constant demands, leading to decreased performance and satisfaction.
Insecurity and Invisibility
Unable to access the real you and use that to promote your achievements or make your value visible to yourself and others.
Change Resistance
A stubborn resistance to change that keeps you stuck in comfortable but opportunity-limiting patterns.
Relationship Blindspots
Blocking professional success by not fully understanding or navigating ever-evolving relationship dynamics.
Purpose Disconnect
Feeling disconnected from a deeper sense of purpose, leading to decreased motivation and apathy.
Strategic Myopia
Allowing daily pressures to keep you focused on immediate tasks, but losing sight of the bigger picture.
Self-Limiting Stories
Debilitating stories you tell yourself about your capabilities, potential, and what's possible for you that hold you back.

A Proven Pathway to Lasting Growth and Long-Term Success
With years of experience working with individuals from all backgrounds - leaders, aspiring leaders, graduates, and those at a crossroads - I've learned that lasting transformation requires two key elements: trusting the process and doing the work together.
No matter your background, these principles are essential for achieving meaningful results whatever your goals.
So, what does that look like?
Stage 1: Introductory Call
Coaching is highly personal and requires deep trust and a willingness to be vulnerable. So, before we do anything, we have a call which serves a number of purposes:
- To give you a chance to explore whether I am a good fit as a coach for you (as well as give me a chance to see if you are someone I feel I could do a good job for as your coach. Neither of us want to waste the other’s time).
- To figure out what it is that you want to achieve from coaching, and how committed you are to achieving those things.
- To work out a suitable time-frame - one that you can commit to and that will allow you to achieve the results you want.
- To address any questions you may have about coaching in general, me as a coach, or anything else relevant to establishing a solid foundation.
30 - 60 minutes
You may want a notepad to capture important points
We'll connect over either Zoom video call or WhatsApp voice call
Stage 2: Design
Once we are on the same page, we need to design your programme.
Some people like and need rapid-fire sessions, others prefer to space them out and have time to work on things between sessions. Some like a more reflective approach, some prefer a more directive approach.
So, we have a preliminary meeting, in which we will:
- Agree initial objectives (these may well change over time, but it gives us a solid starting point).
- Work out initial number and frequency of sessions, style of coaching you may prefer, and the way we will hold sessions (in person, telephone, video call etc.).
- Identify any specific training needs you may have connected with your initial objectives.
- Agree the 'coaching contract' that will exist between us.
60 - 90 minute session
You will need something to capture thoughts and actions on (e.g. a notepad)
We'll connect over Zoom or Whatsapp
Stage 3: Coaching
Stage Three is where we get into the meat of coaching and begin to work together to help you shape, pursue, and achieve your goals.
During this stage, you will:
- Show up to coaching sessions ready to be coached, ideally with the outline of an agenda in mind.
- Hold yourself accountable for following through on the actions agreed in your sessions, and discuss what went right and wrong.
- Be open to being challenged and also to challenge yourself.
- Be honest about where you are, where you want to be, and what is helping you and hindering you in terms of making the progress you want.
60 minutes per session
You will need a private and distraction-free space, and a notebook
We will meet on Zoom
Stage 4: Review & Adjust
Plans change, and coaching will take you on routes you did not plan for.
A core purpose of coaching is to raise your levels of self-awareness, which almost inevitably means that, at the very least, those initial objectives will evolve. On top of that, the initial approach we set out may also change as you discover new things about yourself, and find yourself making progress in different ways and in different areas.
We will Review and Adjust as necessary. In particular, we will:
- Review progress against overall goals and objectives.
- Review what is working in terms of approach.
- Establish whether overall goals have changed.
- Identify what needs to be done to ensure you stay on track to achieve the outcomes you want from your coaching investment.
- Make whatever changes need to be made and push forward.
60 - 120 minute session
You will need a notebook to capture insights and actions
We will meet on Zoom
Stage 5: Implement
Once your programme ends, it is important that you maintain the progress you have made and keep building on the foundation we have created together.
So, Stage Five is all about implementation. In terms of the E3 Method, this is where the Equip and Empower elements really come to the fore as you lean into the skills, tools, and techniques you have learned along the way. You will:
- Connect with like-minded Core Coaching Alumni in the Big Life Community.
- Access a wide range of tools and resources to help you build and maintain positive habits.
- Extend your engagement by joining the Optimal Edge programme or accessing some or all of the courses available here.
- Contact me to check in when you need a boost, want to hold yourself accountable, or just need to bounce something around for a few minutes.
The time commitment is dependant upon the goals and actions that come out of your coaching sessions
You will have access to a library of resources to help you implement your goals and actions
Equipment requirements will be dependant upon the goals and actions that come out of your debrief and/or coaching sessions
A Proven Pathway to Ongoing Growth and Lasting Success
I've been doing this a long time. I've worked with people from all sorts of backgrounds and all walks of life - long-time leaders and aspiring leaders, college graduates and college dropouts, people on a clear path, people at a crossroads, and people lost in the wilderness. And what all that has shown me is that, no matter your background or walk in life, to achieve meaningful results that stand the test of time and deliver the lasting transformation that you want, you have to do two things: trust the process; and do the work.
So, what does that look like?
Step 1:
Introductory Call
Coaching is highly personal and requires deep trust and a willingness to be vulnerable. So, before we do anything, we have a call which serves a number of purposes:

Step 4:
Review and Adjust
Plans change, which is why I referred to what we create in Stage Two as initial objectives and an initial approach.
You see, a core purpose of coaching is to raise your levels of self-awareness, which almost inevitably means that, at the very least, those initial objectives will evolve, if not change altogether. On top of that, the initial approach we set out may also change as you discover new things about yourself, and find yourself making progress in different ways and in different areas from what you initially envisaged.
So, it is important to Review and Adjust as necessary. And while this is identified as it's own stage, the reality is that we will bounce between Stages Three and Four as we check in to review progress and make any adjustments that may be required. In particular, we will:
- Review progress against overall goals and objectives as well as specific milestones
- Review what is working in terms of approach and what is not
- Establish whether overall goals and/or objectives have changed or remained the same
- Identify what needs to be done to ensure you stay on track to achieve the outcomes you want from your coaching investment
- Make whatever changes need to be made

FAQs
How do I book and access sessions?
Once you are enrolled, you'll receive an account on the Big Life Solutions website, which is your private area for all of your Big Life programmes and resources.
Everything is run through your Big Life account - session bookings, sharing session notes and reflections, session resources, and so on. It's essentially your one-stop-shop for everything Big Life.
The only exception is the sessions themselves, which are all accessed through Zoom. So, if you don't already have one, you will need a Zoom account.
Are the sessions online or offline?
To make it as easy as possible for you to find the time and energy to show up fully present and fully engaged, all sessions are held online.
We do the sessions over Zoom, and not only is this easy and convenient, it has a number of extra advantages, too.
For example, if you like to have a permanent record of your session to reflect on, you can have it recorded. If you are out of town, or experiencing device issues, you have multiple options to still make your session. And, if you need to shift things around and rearrange your session, the logistics of using Zoom rather than going in-person makes it super-easy to do.
How long are the coaching sessions?
Coaching sessions last for an hour each. That said, I make myself available via WhatsApp if you need to check in for any reason between sessions.
What happens if I can't make a session?
Ideally, you need to be 100% committed to your coaching and attending your sessions needs to be your number one priority, if you are to get maximum value from them.
But, I totally understand that life can throw curveballs that derail even the best laid plans, and schedules have to change. So, if you can't make a session, rearranging it is fine.
However, there is a caveat to that: other than in exceptional circumstances, I need you to give me 24 hours notice that you want to reschedule. As long as you do that, you keep your session and can book it for another day.
If you simply don't show up to your session without letting me know you can't make it, however, that session will be classed as having been held and you will forfeit it. In other words, you miss out on that session.
What are the personality profiling tools you use?
I use two tools: Spotlight and OpenMind, which we may or may not use as part of your Core Coaching sessions, depending on what we co-design in Stage Two.
Spotlight deals with mindset and behaviour preferences and is focused on developing adaptability and resilience.
OpenMind looks at intrinsic (subconscious) and extrinsic (conscious) thoughts, attitudes, and beliefs. It highlights discrepancies and alignment between how you really feel and how you present yourself to the world. Understanding where there is discrepancy and where there is alignment helps you to develop strategies to live with authenticity, which is key to wellbeing and, in particular, effective leadership.
Both tools involve an online assessment which takes around 20 minutes at most, and both produce a detailed report based on your responses, which we debrief together.
Are there any resources with this programme?
Absolutely! There are a variety of resources available.
You'll get tools that align with your coaching goals to help you gain and maintain momentum.
You will also have access to the Big Life community, hosted on biglifesolutions.com, where you can connect with other people taking coaching and training programmes, so that you can expand your network, your knowledge, and your horizons even further.
